The Townsville and Districts Mendi Blackhawks player Shaun Nona, has not just been making his mark on the rugby league field in 2019, he has also become a valuable member of the Mendi team.
Originally from Tully, North Queensland, Shaun joined the Mendi Group in October last year soon after being recruited by the Mendi Blackhawks.
Since joining the Mendi Group, Shaun has been working at the North Queensland Stadium project whilst undertaking a Certificate III in Civil Construction. On completion of his certificate Shaun would have completed training in machinery operation, working in trenches, confined space, measurements and calculations. The course will provide him the knowledge and foundations to work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures within the civil construction industry.
Mendi will continue to work with Shaun in developing skills that will not only assist him now, but provide opportunities beyond his football career. In the meantime Shaun remains committed to both the Mendi Blackhawks and the Mendi Group. When he is not working at Mendi he is working out and training.
The Mendi Group are proud of our partnership with the Townsville and Districts Mendi Blackhawks and are happy to assist with development of players on and off the football field.
