YOUNG PEOPLE AT WORK

YOUNG PEOPLE AT WORK

The Mendi Group – Assisting in supporting, training and development of young people in the workplace.

A strong economy requires a sustainable and dynamic working population. Central to this is the recognition of the vital role that young people play in the workforce, and sound policy to tackle the obstacles preventing more young

people from developing the valuable skills and self-assurance that come from meaningful employment.

Did you know – Young people constitute a substantial part of the workforce, with over 73 percent of 20-24 year olds and 47 percent of 15-19 year olds in some form of employment.

Here in the Mendi WORKSHOP we currently have three young men in our team – (IMAGE: left to right) Scott Goodrick, 20, is assisting the workshop with maintenance of our equipment, William Nicholas, 17, our apprentice Diesel fitter is currently on his first year and studying with TAFE Queensland and Layton McColl, Yr11, has joined us from Ignatius Park College for his third block of work experience.

The Mendi Group are always proud to be part of the Ignatius Park College VET program.
